Robin and I ate lunch at Dominick's in Westchester and walked around the Plank Road Meadow Boat Launch and the Chicago Portage National Historic Site.

Robin and I saw the Niki in the Garden exhibit at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago. It included 34 sculptures by artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Some of the sculptures were indoors and some were outdoors.

Robin, Aaron, and I had my birthday dinner at Giordano's in Oakbrook Terrace with my mom, Robin's sister, and brother-in-law. Earlier that day Robin and I had mushroom and pork tamales at Berwyn's Houby Fest 5 doors down from our house. Houby means mushroom in Czech, now the area is largely Hispanic so mushroom tamales sort of combines the cultures. I used to take the kids to the Czech store across the street until it closed.
